The current view of the 2012 presidential election, based on HuffPost Pollster charts and analysis.Although there will be many polls and views regarding how the race between President Obama and republican challenger Mitt Romney stands, a more appropriate view is how the race is shaping up from an electoral college perspective. As you will recall, in 2008, then candidate Barack Obama won by an electoral landslide against candidate John McCain, 365 to 173. In fact, President Obama could lose major states such as Florida, Ohio and North Carolina, states he won in 2008, and still secure more than the 270 electoral votes needed to win re-election.
