COAL Upcoming Events – Alderman Ervin on Final Chicago Ward Map and more.

The Chicago Ward Remap, based on the 2020 Census, is now final. Alderman Ervin, Chair of Chicago City Council’s Black Caucus, successfully led this effort through negotiations and compromise, arriving at a 43-7 vote in favor of the Chicago United Map promoted by the Black Caucus, and thus avoiding a Jun 28th ballot referendum.

Alderman Ervin returns this Saturday, May 21, 2022, to provide a review of the Chicago United Map Compromise Plan (Here), along with insights into negotiations and other observations.
