Feb 11th Breakfast – Anthony Driver on ECPS / Civics for Our Young / Forums / Poll

The Empowering Communities for Public Safety initiative represents a new approach for public safety in Chicago, where the goal is to place the community at the table, for the first time ever.

ECPS creates 1) District Councils in each of Chicago’s 22 police districts, where three elected residents will work to ensure public safety at the neighborhood level; and 2) a city-wide Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability that will decide CPD policy, establish public safety goals, and play a central role in selecting police leadership. COAL, for the second time, is honored to host Mr. Anthony Driver, Interim Commissioner, Community Commission for Public Safety and Accountability (CCPSA) as guest speaker at its in-person February 11, 2023 Breakfast, to share information and field questions on ECPS, and importantly, these new positions on the ballot.

At a time when the safety of our streets is the leading issue for a majority of voters, we must endeavor to be informed.

We hope to see you on Saturday.

Voting is our voice.

Respectfully,

COAL Board of Directors
