August Breakfast – A Conversation with Stacy Davis Gates, President of the Chicago Teachers Union
On Tuesday, November 3, 2026, Chicagoans will go to the polls to finally elect every member of the 21-member Chicago Board of Education, including board president.
If we are to achieve a well-managed, financially sound public school system that effectively provides a quality education for all Chicago children, regardless of zip code or school attended, then this fully elected board must effectively engage with all major stakeholders.
Recognizing the Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) as one of the most important stakeholders in the Chicago education space, COAL is honored to host Stacy Davis Gates, President of the Chicago Teachers Union and Executive Vice President of the Illinois Federation of Teachers, as our guest speaker for the August Power Breakfast, scheduled for Saturday, August 1, 2026.
